Marathon Fundraising with a Difference: no cash required!

John McCormick, of McCormick’s Nantwich, is taking part in the Virgin London Marathon 2012 raising funds for Mencap, the UK learning disability charity on April 22nd.
It will be his first marathon and what better year to give it a go than 2012 with London buzzing in anticipation of the Olympics.
John understands that in the current financial climate finding cash for sponsorship money can be really difficult, instead he is asking people to donate their old mobile phones which he can turn into cash for the charity.  He wants to persuade anyone who has an old mobile phone sitting on the back of on the shelf gathering dust to drop it off at McCormick’s, Nantwich (next to the post office). No need to clean off the dust! And it’s not just individuals who can help.
He asks local companies to check the back of their supplies cupboards and if they find a stash of ancient mobile phones John will pop by and collect them.

John McCormick, 07828285832 or via email john.mccormick@fsmail.net

Mencap is the UK’s leading learning disability charity. The charity works with people with learning disabilities, striving to change laws and services, challenge prejudice and directly support thousands of people to live their lives as they choose. See www.mencap.org.uk
